I Remember ...

This is Exhibit No. 374 of what happens when Big Guy doesn't stick to the script.

Big Guy may not remember when he met Michelle, but I remember the first date. He and Lady M sat in the front seat of Big Guy's old Ford Fiesta while I sat in the back seat, my screen on the hump, and scrolling text for Big Guy backwards, so he could read me via the rear-view mirror.

I don't know why he can't remember that. That night is seered into my brain. 20 years of therapy hasn't gotten it out.

  2. Meh, Obama has lied about so much of his life that I'm sure he can't remember what the truths are anymore.

  7. TOTUS so what I hear you saying is that your hard drive needs a good purge?

Perhaps, he should start refering to his autobiography for "that stuff" from now on...LOL

  8. TOTUS,

Now I know you are either lying or incorrectly remembering that magical night. Have you been having group text with the French and Italian teleprompters??

No way he only looked at the rear view mirror. He would have had to have been looking at the drivers side then the passenger's side door mirrors, back and forth, in order to have read what you were scrolling. He always looks like he is watching a tennis match when he is speaking...

Or did he just start with one mirror and worked his way up??

  9. TOTUS:
I read the link to the link about how perfect Obama is as a husband and a Dad. And about how he makes other men feel sooooo inadequate because they cannot zoom off to Paris for a date night. And about how he nibbles veggies and keeps trim. And can cook international dishes, and about how he is dangerously like a presidential Martha Stewart, and about how voters like their man to be imperfect, like them.

    "Sigh"

I guess they are just going to have to grin and bear it.

And doesn't the story go that she actually was his mentor at the law firm in Chicago where they met? Geez...next thing you know, he'll have dodged bullets while getting off the plane in Moscow...

  14. Bettyann, you forgot to mention how he likes to include his children in all aspects of his life... like when he pimps out his daughters for political gain, and makes them wear no-nukes T-shirts while he's at the G8. Really, isn't that the ultimate 'Take your daughter to work' day? Or, does anyone really believe she chose that shirt for herself?

  15. Oh, BTW, does this make HIS family eligible for ridicule like the Palin daughters? I mean... they said Sarah Palin was really at fault for that, since she put her daughters in the limelight. How would this be different? Oh, yeah, letterman LIKES bo.... sorry, I lost my head there for a minute...

You cannot possibly be serious about ridiculing the daughters of the Messiah? Sarah and her daughters are mere humaniods. The offspring of His Worshipfulness's divine gonads are above human, their Dad being kind of like God and all.

Yeah, Shaun, when a serial liar can't remember what lie he told for a particular situation, he or she will always clam right up. Then, if you pursue the question, pout like a little kid and play the "victim" to your "persecutor" and, whoever is standing around at the time will become the "rescuer." "Aw, shucks, Questionner, leave the guy alone. I don't remember the first time I met my wife either."

    Facts:

    1. D'oh! forgot the lie to tell for this one.
    2. D'oh! really doesn't remember -- he was Cokehead Barry in those days.

I remember my moms 4spd, 4cl,2 door, lemon yellow, plastic interior Ford Feista that came stock, with no A/C. It was the slowest car on the interstate in the intense Georgia heat during the summer of 1981. (mom was learning to drive) Who would have ever guessed a Stealth-Marxist/Commie/Mullah would go on to start his political career a few years later in the greatest Mexican muscle car of all time!

  26. Maybe BHO gave Michelle the goofy plastic flowers on her dresses and shirt (she had more than, if you can believe that) as a way to apologize for forgetting such an important event in their lives. What a dolt.

The above the fold picture on Drudge is a HOOT! He is so much like Carter, I'm sure that he is just lusting in his heart like his mentor. The funniest thing is the way Sarkozy is laughing at him.

  27. Correction: I just read the sappy Politico (that guy is WAY too confused in his political opinions for me -- what a dweeb) article. "Fact 1." above should read: 1. Dope told another boldfaced lie.

  33. Actually, addressing the earlier post about "foreign dishes" .... I think they meant a foreigh "dish" like the one he is leering at in the photo.

Melena - yeah, that thought did comd to mind about the flowers ...

Back when Clinton did the Monica with Lewinsky, I was talking about it with my boss lady who is a big lib Democrat and her comment to me was "Well, so what - that's what mens do".

OH, so that is "what mens do", huh. I suppose if Barry was caught in flagrante with an Italian dish, then he is just "being manly". The media and Dems would just turn it around and say "that's ok, he is acting just like JFK" who screwed around on Jackie-O in the WH.

And as for having a "presidential Martha Stewart", that thought makes me gag, not sigh. I do NOT want a metrosexual as POTUS. Unless, of course, by Martha Stewart, they were speaking in reference to her insider trading. Well, if so, then that is worse and makes me want to barf (think projectile). Ol' Martha thought she could get away with it, because in HER circles what she did was not a crime, "it's what everyone does. The 'little people' were just jealous of her wealth and set out to get her." (I heard one of Martha's friends actually say that once in an interview.)

  39. All this talk about a "second stimulus" is really beginning to bother me.

The Dems are getting way too blatant about their greed. They want it ALL, and all at once: Health Care 'reform'; Cap 'n Tax; more bailouts (this time the states run by Dems that have huge budget deficits); Amnesty to buy the votes of Hispanics; etc.

And now, they are screaming again about the CIA "lying to them". The latest is that they are saying that Panetta told them that the CIA has been lying to them for the last eight years (of course, it was only during GW's two terms).

The REAL story is that Panetta came to them and told them about a project which was suggested and had some initial planning done, but eventually discarded as "unworkable" after being studied. So, since it was never actually put into place, they never briefed the Security Committee about it. THAT is what they are claiming as being "lied to". Its another crock of sh*t that they are feeding to the BHO media to blast across the nation in an attempt to bolster Fancy Nancy's claims.

Have you seen Nancy P lately? She is going to need some botox or a few more nips and tucks very, very soon.

  45. Ouch! Conservative political adviser SLAMS Palin...and predicts the same fate for her as I did.

    http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2009/07/09/2009-07-09_to_go_forward_gop_must_snap_out_of_its_sarah_palin_spell.html#ixzz0Krhn0LDj&D

To go forward, GOP must snap out of its Sarah Palin spell

    By Mike Murphy

Gov. Sarah Palin is the political train wreck that keeps on giving. First, she was an awful choice last year as John McCain's running mate. I came to this conclusion with regret - I am one of McCain's biggest admirers.

But facts are facts. An inexperienced governor of a small state, she lacked the experience to be President and brought nothing to the ticket except a surefire knack for exciting voters who were already reliably Republican. It was a strategically awful choice, and I said so - both on and off microphone - at the time. Most pundits thought I was wrong. Look at the crowds she can draw, I was told. She "excites the base."

Phooey. Every presidential election year brings forth some new nugget of conventional wisdom from the media elite that totally misses the real picture. Last year, the big wrong idea was this notion that base voters have somehow become the new swing voters. We are now told the party base - those voters who will vote for a bag of cement if it has an R or D attached to it - must be carefully appealed to, romanced and appeased.

Unfortunately for McCain, the actual swing voters, the independents who do determine the winner of the election, didn't buy into this fantasy at all. After a three-week sniff, most couldn't run away from Palin fast enough.

Yet even after she helped cost McCain the election, Palin's great charm endured, at least among many grass-roots Republicans. At least until her astonishing self-immolation during a hastily organized backyard press conference last week, where she gamely competed with honking geese to resign midterm as Alaska's rookie governor. Today, in the wake of that debacle, it is puzzling to many outside our party how some Republicans can still see her as an appealing candidate for the party nomination in 2012. This begs the question: Why is there still so much Republican love for Sarah Palin?

Other politicians are more reliable conservatives; Palin ran for governor on a set of populist issues usually linked to Alaska Democrats. She lacks any real accomplishment - no military or private-sector career of note, no academic achievement beyond a frenetic bounce between five colleges, including a sun 'n' surf-oriented outfit in Hawaii. She has served only two years as governor of a small and uniquely easy-to-govern state (other governors pine for Alaska's small population and billions of dollars in easy revenue from oil production), a job she has now abandoned.

The answer is that Palin profits mightily from a Republican blind spot. She has all the right smirking enemies in America's media elite. To them, Palin reeks of flyover America, that vast and corny collection of Nebraskas and Alabamas where the Army can always meet enlistment quotas and Tina Fey's private jet stops briefly to refuel. Red state Republicans see the snarky, elite attacks on Palin as an attack on them. And in some ways, they are.

So even now, after a bizarre resignation spectacle that should lead any levelheaded Republican to cringe at the idea of letting Palin within a thousand miles of the GOP nomination, she may have enough support to attempt a run for President.

She'll lose, of course, almost certainly the Republican primaries and certainly the general election. Palin's GOP is still only one part of that Republican base, and her slice will shrink after last week's hara-kiri.

But for some in our demoralized party, the romantic joy of fighting the good fight alongside the most hated enemy of our own enemies is still a seductive idea, at least for now.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That letter is atrocious. Sarah Palin stepping down has Republicans flipping out "ZOMG SO LIEK WHAT R WE GONNA DO WE NEED PALIN 4 2012!". Well, NOBODY defended Palin and she had it just as bad as Bush if not worse and she didn't do a damn thing. She did her best, and the GOP just stood by as usual, not fighting back, and even devouring their own (again as usual), attack Palin themselves.

McCain cost McCain the election, and Republicans cost the election by nominating McCain. And he was nominated because in their desire to punish the elected Republicans in 2006 they just handed power to their political enemies in an incredibly stupid and idiotic forfeit. That just led to McCain out of desperation to find the "only" one who could save us from the ultra-libs by "appealing" to the left's voters. It was sick. And so, by popularity only, we elected a President who struts around more like a famous actor or sports player, going on talk shows, walking around without a shirt on, being popular in the media...and literally tearing the economy apart. All the while, Republicans are too damn stupid to learn their lesson and are still devouring their own.

Anyone who attacks Palin needs to just come out and tell us how much the LOVE Obama. And if you don't like that, I suggest you figure out just what the hell you stand for, because like with McCain, I don't believe you stand for anything.

Ok I'm done ranting for the moment...

  52. Craniac, that's where you're wrong. Let's see our glorious, historic, better than anyone ever born President get interviewed by Rush Limbaugh and do better. THEN tell me Palin is a lightweight.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Craniac, it is obvious that you believe Sarah Palin would be a bad choice as a GOP candidate for 2012. You seem to have given this some amount of thought. May I ask who you see as a serious candidate for the GOP?

    ReplyDelete
  57. My bet? Craniac wants the Republican Party to nominate SC's Sanford for the presidential ticket. You know: someone who will DE-FIN-ITE-LY LOSE!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Poor craniac is one of those folks who suffers from PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) and would trash Sarah Palin no matter what she did.

As for Mr. Mike Murphy, you say that he is a "Conservative political adviser", yet the man claims to be one of McCain's biggest fans"? Don't you find something wrong with that combination? McCain is a RINO. None of the conservatives that I know care a whit for McCain or any of the other RINOs currently in office.

Here are some FACTS about Mr. Mike Murphy -
    1. He is a Republican political consultant, which doesn't necessarily translate into "CONSERVATIVE"
    2. He was, until January 2006, an adviser to Mitt Romney.
    3. He stepped down as a result of his role as chief strategist to Governor Romney as well as Senator McCain.
    4. He has advised other such nationally prominent Republicans as Christie Whitman and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
    5. He writes for NY Daily News.
    6. For 2008, he served as a regular commentator on NBC's Meet the Press and The Today Show.
    7. He is a guest columnist for TIME Magazine.
    8. On September 3, 2008, during a segment on NBC, Murphy was recorded, along with commentator Peggy Noonan and NBC reporter Chuck Todd, making harsh comments about Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin -- all apparently unaware that their microphones were still live. Murphy has been publicly critical of the strategy of the Palin choice in his TIME blogging and on NBC, saying her appeal is mostly limited to the Republican base.

SO, no, this guy isn't a "Conservative" political consultant. He just wrote a hit piece on Sarah Palin so he can get himself back into Romney's good graces and get him as a client again and thus hitch his wagon back to the Romney train for 2012.

He is what I would call a professional "political hack".

And you will note that he said that Palin's appeal is mostly limited to the Republican base. Gee, and that base is, what, craniac? AH, CONSERVATIVE. Sounds like he doesn't consider himself to be a Conservative, does he?

So, next time, don't preface the comments from an article critical of Sarah Palin by saying that the author is a Conservative when they are NOT Conservative.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Shaun, the problem with BHO's leering at a teenage girl is this - the Obama machine (which includes the msm) is promoting him as this wholesome family man, good Christian, wonderful father, blah, blah, blah. If he is going to continue with that charade, then he needs to act the part. (Don't worry, the machine is already in motion denying what millions of people have seen with their own eyes.)

When he got caught leering at that girl, he not only embarrassed his wife, he embarrassed his children and he embarrassed our country.

Besides, he is at the conference to discuss important issues and make important decisions. It is not US who appear to be losing sight of critical issues, now, is it?

As for Clinton, he is a sleaze, not a hero.

    ReplyDelete
  60. but craniac is not afraid of Joey B!?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Couric should have stuck to what SHE did "best" - be "cute and perky". I think her low ratings are a testament to that and are kicking her ass pretty good right now.

I don't base what I think of Sarah Palin on some interviews, especially once it was revealed that in some of the interviews of Ms. Palin, her answers were cut, sometimes in mid-sentence, in an effort to make her look bad.

Just like I don't base what I think of BHO on his speeches, his interviews, etc. I base them on what he has done during his career, the people he has associated himself with (Wright, Ayers, etc) during his lifetime, and the actions that he has taken since being elected. Obama is all talk, he is no "heavyweight" just because he is a smooth talker and does well in interviews and press conferences. What do you expect when he is asked softball questions during an interview or has pre-screened questions asked during a press conference? Besides, the man has to use a teleprompter 90% of the time, and even then he makes mistakes! Tells you that he is not speaking from the heart, and is speaking words written for him by someone else.

    ReplyDelete
  62. FYI, this is Craniac. For some reason there's a bug that prevents me from posting under my AIM account.

    Hi Janice,

I'm glad you asked. I find Mitt Romney to be quite intelligent and well spoken. I admire Mike Huckabee for his faith, as well as his plain spoken nature that doesn't betray his obvious intellect. I also think Bobby Jindal has a bright future, despite the fact that he made a poor showing in his response to the State of the Union address.

You'll notice that all three examples I gave you are people who are clearly not intellectual lightweights. I would feel infinitely more confident in any one of them compared to Ms. Sarah Palin.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Dear craniac, if you are so "objective" then I must assume that you must also think BHO is a "lightweight" because of some of the things he has said.

For example, when he said on the campaign trail that there are 57 states in the US.

When he said how Iran is "just a tiny country" and “doesn't pose a serious threat to us".

How about when he claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people, when the actual death toll was 12?

There are more, but you never hear about these from the likes of Katic Couric, now do you?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jamie,

You've provided examples of embarassing mistakes that have clearly have nothing to do with intellect. Do you really think that President Obama believed there was 57 states in the union? Is it possible that he said this while utterly exhausted on the campaign trail?

The tornadoes...Obviously he was given misinformation.

The Iran thing....well, I think that's the only one you have a point on and I'm happy to concede that it was a mistake for him to say that.

None of these things even remotely compare to the fact that Sarah Palin is a gaffe machine. More importantly, if she had done ANY prep work whatsoever before the Katie Couric interview, then she clearly would not have come across as an utter moron. To me, this speaks loudly of her unwillingness to be intellectually curious. The fact that she bounced around among 5 different non-descript colleges is another story.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think the crane-man has a crush on Sarah but cannot tell his peeps for fear they would titter.... Crane' is a male, no? You cannot be sure but .... huge (j)'ass...i mean...some people work at this! Who knew?

    ReplyDelete
  66. And Jamie, before you assert that Vice-President Biden is a gaffe machine as well, let me say that I agree wholeheartedly, and I would not be entirely comfortable having him as my President.

The only thing I feel was wise about his pick as VP is Biden's foriegn policy experience. Other than that, I feel that it was less than an inspired choice.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hi Susan,

There's no question that Sarah Palin is a beautiful woman, and that Todd Palin is a lucky man to be able to wake up next to her every morning.

  68. Oh, so you think Sarah has at least SOME value then, since she is pretty. How magnanimous of you. You know, its people like you that cause attractive women (like Sarah) to "dress down" so that she will be taken seriously.

Sarah Palin did not come off as an "utter moron". She came off as being unprepared. A lot of that can be attributed to the tight leash that McCain and the "handlers" had her on. She was being told what to say, what to do, what to wear. The campaign was not about HER views, but about McCains views. She had to play by the rules. It was the job of the McCain campaign handlers to prepare her, and if the sniping that has been going on by the McCain people lately is any indication, they may have purposely left her underprepared. Besides, what does preparing for an interview have to do with being "intellectually curious."

But, according to you, its understandable for Obama to "make mistakes" because "he was utterly exhausted" (poor baby). Oh, and if he gaffes it can be attributed to being "misinformed". (BTW - that makes me think that he was "intellectually uncurious".) But, Sarah, who was tapped just 3 short months before the election, is not given the benefit of a doubt for her missteps or for being unprepared? Give me a break.

Obama atarted running for President the day after he took office as Senator from Illinois. He had years to prepare himself. You would think that the standard would be higher for him.

Your reference to how Palin "bounced around among 5 different non-descript colleges" shows you to be the snob that you truly are. Obviously, attending anything other than an "Ivy League" school is another indication of stupidity. Of course, George Bush graduated from Harvard, but according to liberals, that didn't mean much. It is only an indication of superior intellect if you are a LIBERAL who attended an Ivy League school.

As for mentioning Biden, why bother? Everyone knows that he has been a gaffe machine for years. Obama just picked Biden because he was less of a threat to Obama than anyone else would have been. He made Obama look that much better

  69. Hey Susan, do you think 'hugh jass' is just a typo and it is supposed to say 'huge jackass'? I mean, craniac may have been "utterly exhausted" after experiencing the problems with posting today. Or maybe he was too intellectually (un)courious to check his spelling?

    Just asking.

    ReplyDelete
  70. hey, crainiac, so Sarah Palin is only useful 'cause she's pretty? Is that how you feel about your girlfriend???

The Republican Party had no intention of winning the election; they thought that Palin would sinkt the party, but she engergized it instead. They were in a panic, and had to stop her.

so they sabotaged her at every turn.

But she's still here, the Repubs are still sinking

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks for your answer, Hugh (Crainiac). You have well-stated positions, and I do value your opinion. I may not agree, but I like to be shown the other side of an argument (discussion). And I figured you would be honest in your assessment of a good GOP candidate.

Sometimes I feel that it is nearly impossible for a good person to become president. The political arena seems to be a stagnant and fetid pool, and I'm not sure there are any quick or sure ways of changing that.

In my way of thinking, someone like Sarah Palin might be more valuable on the outside, as a check on the presumptiveness of government. Just as Rush Limbaugh serves as a watchdog against those who wander away from their commitments, Sarah might be able to bring some sanity back to the country in general. She speaks well, is forthright with her opinion, and has the added benefit of having a family that is firmly behind her and her goals.

Despite the fact that the liberal coalition is in such a frenzy of hate about Sarah Palin, there is a sizable part of our population that finds her quite personable and intelligent. She is the kind of woman that people would like to emulate, not in the Jackie Kennedy hair-do and wardrobe manner, but by being outspoken, honest, and able to stand on principles.

I suppose that intelligence can be a highly-sought-after trait, but it can be misleading. There are highly intelligent people that have no common sense, or are easily misled by people that are more clever than intelligent. I'm not sure I would use intelligence as a qualification for office. I would think that integrity and honesty, tempered with common sense and hard work, would be just as valid. And maybe the maturity gained through life and work experiences. Perhaps fiscal responsibility would also be a good gauge.

Perhaps, rather than someone who follows a particular platform, a president should be someone who leads by example.

Sorry, I get rather philosophical late at night. I'll stop ranting now.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ju-ust what I thought: craniac picked three people who won't win against BO (Romney, Huckabee, and Jindal).

Romney is an wonk who constantly talks policy and never loosens up with people. Americans prefer to vote for someone less clinical, more personable.

Many conservatives like Huckabee, but he doesn't energize the base to the extent that Sarah Palin does.

As for Bobby Jindal: I like him, too, but he was DEAD boring in his State of the Union rebuttal (not address, craniac!). He's even more wonkish/all-policy-24-7 than Romney!

Whenever Jindal speaks, his forehead is tightly knit, and his neck looks strained and tight. Jindal hammers his points home----BAM, BAM, BAM!---- so quickly that it's dizzying; most people will just feel lost, overwhelmed.

BUT, if Jindal works with a superb debate coach and learns to relax, tell some pointed jokes (Reagan was GIFTED at this), and unknit his brow and smooth out his neck, I think he'd make a gifted orator and great presidential candidate.

However, no one can win against a popular incumbent. Frankly, if Obama is doing well somehow (ie. if he manages to fudge the numbers that long) in 2012, then I don't think Palin will run, and no one else could beat him.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The Romney-Huckaphony factor is looming larger and larger, it appears. I've been wondering for several months now whether Newt Gingrich, King of the RINO's, and his pals are already promoting one of these two (or someone like them!) for 2012... .

    FACTS

1.Fox News Corp. gave Huckaphony his own weekly infomercial called, (whaddya know) "Huckabee."

    2. Fox News' Hannity regularly says how much he liked Mitt Romney (then, he will mention one or two other of the candidates, but not as enthusiastically).

    3. About 3 weeks ago, Hannity did an interview outside with Sarah Palin in which the camera angle and close-ups and Hannity's facial expressions and body language were all unflattering and/or sneeringly condescending to her.

    4. Today (yesterday?), that snake in the grass Newt Gingrich told Greta Van Susteren (with a big smile on his face) that Sarah Palin chose not to occupy the governor's office during the lame duck (she was HONEST and CANDID in telling her intentions about not running for governor again) months because all the negative press was "painful" and distressing. He smirkingly and CLEARLY implied that she was weak and couldn't take the pressure. Thus, he PROMOTED A RINO (whoever it is) by shoving Palin aside as emotionally unfit for the demands of the presidency.

[@ Newt: Go snuggle on the couch with Pelosi, you big phony.]

    ReplyDelete
  74. I've always felt Newt was a RINO and a phony; and didn't he turn tail and run at the slightest 'bad publicity' and attacks? He's a coward.

TWW, when Big Gay...er..Bi Guy whispered "Gotta get me a dress like that", he is likely still miffed that Rahm won't let him borrow his leotard and tutu (per Totus).

What a bunch of misfits and miscreants.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wait, TOTUS, you're BHO's personal property, then? If you were with him 20 years ago, that presupposes you weren't in DC.

Then you know the REAL truth about him!

    I both envy you and feel sorry for you :-{

Did you have to sit through Rev. Wrong's speeches? Just in case BO needed to say something? Like 'amen'...

How about the wedding? any miscues there?

inquiring minds want to know :-)

    ReplyDelete
  80. BHO is only able to do what he is doing because he has the support of Congress, his "rubber stamp of approval" for all of his socialist policies. Congress is using BHO to get their pet pork projects passed so they can buy more votes back home. The "check and balance" between the Exec and Legislative Branches of our government is not functioning. That will have to be fixed, and there are only two ways it can be done - 1. Get Obama out in 2012 or -2. wrest control of Congress away from the Democrats.

Option 1 would be the hardest, because there are so many who will vote for him no matter what. And by 2012, ACORN will be stronger and voter fraud much worse than in 2008. So whomever runs against BHO in 2012 is in for an uphill battle. Our best hope will be in 2016

Option 2 is more likely to happen. In 2010 there will be opportunity to get back control of the House. Sarah Palin can help this happen, by campaigning for and with conservative Republican candidates. People who want to see this happen need to work locally to help get more Conservatives elected in local, state and Congressional offices.

BTW - BHO is giving a speech right now (yes, another one) in Ghana. Apparently the BHO apparatchik has taken his "Yes We Can" playbook and are applying it globally. In the auditorium where he is speaking, they have giant banners placed around the room that say "YES TOGETHER WE CAN".

There he goes, quoting MLK again.

".... people will look back at this and say that this was the moment when blah, blah, blah..."

Oh, I guess I am witnessing another historic BHO moment. This speech is sure to be included in history books in time for school to start this fall. (Did you know that? In some school districts around the country, there are whole chapters dedicated to BHO? Yep. And that was BEFORE the 2008 election.)

I just wonder, though, once the egos in Congress (and there are HUGE ones, no doubt) realize they are losing too much power to the executive branch, they just MIGHT not rubberstamp everything President Hussein Obama does -- (ever hopeful here).

    ReplyDelete
  84. I hope so, too. But if so, that would probably be only a temporary thing. Obama would just dangle more carrots (pork) and in their quest to keep the folks in their districts happy and voting for them, they will go for it. (ever the pessimist here, lol)

Either way, it isn't good for the country to have total control of both branches by one party. It wasn't when the Republicans had total control and is even worse with the Dems in total control. They are all greedy.

  86. The REAL reason even supposed-conservatives oppose Sarah Palin (instead of being proud of her accomplishments, and glad to join her anti-corruption efforts) is GREED!

Future candidates are greedy to beat her and win the POWER of the presidency.

Those who hold eternal power behind the scenes----the unelected, every-present staffers----don't want her to win and grab the spotlight and power from their own favored candidates, from whom THEY derive THEIR power.

Money sure makes the world go 'round. It's sickening!

And Sarah Palin doesn't hate, but doesn't adore money. She really is NATURAL, and that is why NORMAL people treasure her.

Btw, in her "rambling" resignation speech, Gov. Palin actually used an age-old preaching tool: "ladling the gravy." Clergy begin by mentioning their main topic, then AFTER EACH accompanying EXAMPLE or point, they once again mention the main topic, before moving on to the next example. This technique helps people remember the MAIN point of the sermon (ie. "the gravy").

My, I wonder why the MSM is so unfamiliar with this COMMON preaching tool!?

  89. Thank you for pointing that out MM. I had no idea that what she was doing had a name. I just knew that she had a way of speaking that reeked of sincerity and honesty. Maybe that is why the msm is unfamiliar with it. Most politicians use the same-old, same-old method, LYT - "Lying through your teeth". THAT the msm are familiar with, although I doubt that they have a problem with it since that is what they are accustomed to. As the old saying goes "If he's smilin', he's lyin'".

I have read that some think that BHO uses "conversational hypnotic techniques", similar to the methods of "self-hypnosis" that are used in self-help seminars (like they hold for people who want to stop smoking.) Apparently "his speech contains hypnosis techniques like hypnotic anchoring, pacing and leading, critical factor bypass and so on." Maybe this is why he insists on so much air time on tv?

Here is a link to a 67 page paper (in pdf form) about it:

    http://tiny.cc/PZaLN

This, of course, is not a new story. I just haven't heard mention of it lately and wondered if people are still talking about it (not the msm, of course).

And did you know that prior to the election, the Obama campaign paid to have "courtesy ads" imbedded in several XBOX 360 video games targeting 18 - 34 year old men? Yes, video games that young people everywhere are playing every day. My guess it is used as a form of subliminal messaging.

    Read about it here: http://tiny.cc/PApI5

    NPR even mentioned it: http://tiny.cc/TsE1J

All interesting stuff, and scary, too. It might explain why some young people who are otherwise unconcerned about politics suddenly care about it.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I'm curious to know if its still going on. Are there embedded ads in video games about "health care reform", "global warming", the need for more "stimulus"? Have they moved on to video games that target young children?

Are they using this technology in commercials, too?

On July 9th in Newsweek there was a column written by Kathleen Townsend Kennedy (Ted Kennedy's niece), the title of which is "Without a Doubt - Why Barack Obama represents American Catholics better than the pope does"

Here is a small excerpt from that column:
== In truth, though, Obama's pragmatic approach to divisive policy (his notion that we should acknowledge the good faith underlying opposing viewpoints) and his social-justice agenda reflect the views of American Catholic laity much more closely than those vocal bishops and pro-life activists. When Obama meets the pope tomorrow, they'll politely disagree about reproductive freedoms and homosexuality, but Catholics back home won't care, because they know Obama's on their side. In fact, Obama's agenda is closer to their views than even the pope's. ==
    READ IT HERE: http://tiny.cc/plmWW

So now they think Obama knows more about the Catholic faith than does Pope Benedict?

Since that column was published, BHO paid a visit to the Vatican. At his meeting with Pope Benedict, BHO hand-delivered a personal letter from Ted Kennedy to the Pope. In addition, BHO asked the Pope to pray for Kennedy.

  99. I was reading the comments on that Kennedy-Townsend column about BHO and the Pope, when I came across this info:

John Holdren, Obama's Science Czar, says: Forced abortions and mass sterilization needed to save the planet

Book he authored in 1977 advocates for extreme totalitarian measures to control the population

John Holdren was recently appointed by Obama to be Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology -- informally known as the United States' Science Czar.

    ===============================================
so I searched the net for more info about this man, to verify what I had just read. It seems that in 1977, Holdren co-authored a book with Paul and Anne Ehrlich. Here is a little bit about that book:

== Compulsory Abortion for American Women

The trio prescribed a rigidly enforced, government-imposed limit of two children per family. Holdren and the Ehrlichs maintained "there exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated." Hiding behind the passive voice, they note, "it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society." (Emphasis added.) To underscore they mean business, they conclude, "If some individuals contribute to general social deterioration by overproducing children, and if the need is compelling, they can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility" (pp. 837-838). Moreover, if the United States government refuses to take proper measures, they authorize the United Nations to take compelling force. ==

People who want to BELIEVE so badly in the message that they lose all objectivity.

  101. Thanks, Jamie; I feel much better :-)

2 kids per family??? Who the hell are they kidding???

That would put welfare families out of business, as they exist by receiving more checks per each child. Also, where would the Dims future voters come from?

  102. Jamie, and wasn't it the same BHO who just told the pope that he thought that we should have fewer abortions in America, and the same one who voted against the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act? He has no clue, he wouldn't recognize the truth if he met it face to face.

    Have you read this:

And where would the Dims future voters come from? Easy - ACORN would just crank out more fake names. Also, the voting machines are crooked, and can be controlled with cell phones.

And I suppose BHO would not be covered by this law, just like the Health Care Plan is only for us, not him, Congress or the Unions.

    ReplyDelete
  104. The news reports are that the Pope and BO had a "frank" discussion today.

My guess is the Pope went straight for the spiritual jugular vein and wanted to discuss with BO not only why BO supports abortion or the partial-birth abortion method, but also why BO does NOT support the Infants Born Alive Protection Act.

BO is the most radical of all Senators re. that Act. The Pope must have hoped to make a spiritual inroad with BO, give BO a good deal to think and pray about, and gently prod BO toward valuing life, rather than supporting the (gulp, radical Islamist) culture of death.

Meanwhile, BO's two daughters were kept up late at night, going to night clubs of all things, etc. Funny how the MSM didn't gripe at all about this lousy parenting, but oh boy, They freak out about Sarah Palin's merely keeping her family up for her historic nomination!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, all of the above posts give SO much important material to review. I had NO idea that BO was using hypnosis techniques, Jamie----but WOW, does that make sense, right!?

Every day, more and more awful things to fear. I keep remembering my favorite scripture, keeping it foremost in my mind:
"I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind."
    II Timothy 1: 7

I don't think BO has a sound mind. That's what scares me....

  108. OBAMA'S VISIT WITH THE POPE:

    according to Reuters:

== Obama told the pope of his commitment to reduce the number of abortions and of his attention and respect for the positions of the Catholic Church," Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi told reporters after he was briefed by the pope.

Obama supports abortion rights and says his policy is to change economic and social conditions so as to put more women in situations where they do not feel they have to have an abortion. ==

Oh, so Obama is under the impression that only women in certain "economic and social situations" have abortions. Is he talking about the women who have abortions because having a baby might disrupt their careers, or those who have an abortion because they find out that there is a chance that their baby might have a genetic defect?

OH, I see. So, just how is he going to change their "social and economic" situations?

Or is he, in his condescending way, saying that only POOR women have abortions? Well, I think the statistics tell a different story.

But, of course, all this is moot. Obama just did what he always does - said what he thought would satisfy the Pope and not anger his base back home.

Now, he will make sure that funding for birth-control is included in his "health care plan", offer free birth control in elementary, middle and high schools, have Sec of Ed, Arnie whats-his-name, mandate sex-ed starting in kindergarten and say "I've taken steps to lower the number of abortions".

  109. Thanks for the links Free USA. The whole thing with the Big Guy admin. tying our guys' hands behind their backs in Afghanistan has really struck a cord with me for the last week or so.

They are playing a game of political popularity using our young people's lives as their pawns. They are trying to look like they are in it to win the war on one hand by sending more troops, but then forcing them to lay down their arms to pacify their lefty supporters and look (what I call) war-compassionate.

Big Guy's followers are definitely still in a daze over him. Even when he violates what even they say they believe, they still stick up for him. Their arguments are contradictory and grounded in a mindset that fails sound reasoning on so many levels. It's really maddening.

How do you share the truth with someone who believes and speaks nonsense? The ones I know seriously don't see what he is doing; they just see HIM. Hard to believe educated adults can follow with such a cult mindset, but I'm witnessing it personally.

To see to what level he'll go to (at our guys' expense) to gain another avenue of "popularity" with his followers is not only nauseating...it's frightening.

  110. I found something else on Newsweek and this one will really turn your stomach, so if you want to enjoy the day, don't read it.

This piece of journalistic crap is just another example of the media love affair with Obama. I could not even read the entire thing. This little excerpt should give you an idea of the tone of this article:

== When Holder and his wife, Sharon Malone, glide into a dinner party they change the atmosphere. In a town famous for its drabness, they're an attractive, poised, and uncommonly elegant pair — not unlike the new first couple. ==

But they just use glowing descriptions of to set you up for the MAIN reason for this article -

It appears that Eric Holder (the AG) is "leaning toward appointing a prosecutor to investigate the Bush administration's brutal interrogation practices"

"I hope that whatever decision I make would not have a negative impact on the president's agenda," he says. "But that can't be a part of my decision."

I think that investigating Bush for "crimes" would just be used by the Obama admin to take attention away from their attempts to radically change this country.

  111. Imageremix,

I agree completely that they are playing political popularity games using our young people. That said, I feel that there is a deeper, much more sinister side to it. Since BHO seems to be trying to destabilize the USA, leading to a takeover by the Europeans and the World Banks, hamstringing our troops in Afghanistan by not allowing them to shoot the Taliban Terrorists, while having them guard the poppy fields and not let them be harmed, seems crazy. That is, until you realize that the poppy crop (heroin)is where the Taliban harvests billions of $$$ to support terrorists. BHO is all too sympathetic to the Muslims (and their terrorists), and deep down he hates the USA, as well as the military, and is deliberately weakening their effectiveness. Our enemies are very much aware of this.

Very scary to realize that our combat forces, our air force protection, missile defense systems AND nuclear superiority are ALL being crippled. I read this week that the reason that the "stimulus" (pork) money has not been spent yet, is that it being held to support BHO's and Dems campaigns in 2010 and 2012. Sick.

Charles Krauthammer has an excellent article posted this week on BHO's deal with Russia. Another case of "they gain, we lose".

And you can bet that very soon, as the political scene heats up, that there will be more scare tactics (heavy on the scare) to try to take our eyes off what BHO and his cronies are up to, and divert our attention to something else. I never use to be a cynical person, but the WH hoodlums have really changed that.

Deliberate - yes. Scary - yes. Unbelievable - unfortunately, NO.

    ReplyDelete
  112. FreeUSA,

I agree. The sinister side of what is going on is becoming an undeniable reality.

I will check out Krauthammer's article. Thanks for the heads up.

  113. freeUSA - all too true; but the Fraud will underestiamte the military. The soldiers swear to uphold the Constitution above the all else (even the Pres.); many do not see him as a legimate president. One wrong order, and it's all over for the Fraud.

True Americans will defend their freedom and country from all its enemies, foreign and domestic. And many citizens are beginning to realize the Fraud and his supporters are America's greatest enemy. And the FBI and CIA serve the Constitution, not the Office of the Pres.

The Fraud is in for a rude awakening. And it will take very little for it to happen...

    ReplyDelete
  114. OK folks, then we need to keep up-to-date on what Congress and the fraud are up to. Off the top of my head:

    1. Health Care "reform".
    2. Cap and Tax (trade).
    3. Amnesty for illegals
    4. Appointment of more "Czars" (if you look closely at the ones already appointed, some are Socialists, Marxists, ex-Big Union leaders, '70's radicals, etc)
    5. USA Service Corp. (watch for an eventual turn to using it as basis to build a "civilian military")
    6. Reducing strength of our military.
    7. Might bypass Congressional approval process and sign treaty with Russia to reduce our nuclear armaments.
    8. Second (actually third) stimulus bill hiding pork for vulnerable Dems and RINOs worried about 2010 elections.
    9. Bailouts of states like California, Michigan, etc.
    10. More "stealth" taxes (on soda, alchoholic bevs, etc)
    11. Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid to affect the poor and the elderly so that they demand "Universal Health Care".
    12. Tax hikes are coming if and when any of the above legislation is passed.
    13. Joining World Court (long shot for Obama, he needs 67 votes in Senate, but he will try)
    14. Prosecution (or persecution) of Bush admin for "torture" to distract populace from his real agenda.

Then there is this: On June 30, the Obama admin announced a '$32 Million Initiative to Expand Hydropower.' This is the first I've heard of this. I'm not sure what to make of it, but the following statement makes me wonder what they are up to. Sec Chu says that it is "designed to support the deployment of turbines and control technologies to increase power generation and environmental stewardship at existing non-federal hydroelectric facilities."

The part that worries me is the last part about "Environmental stewardship at existing NON-FEDERAL hydroelectric facilities". SO, are they going to impose more regulations on the ones that are non-federal so that they either have to raise rates to survive? Trying for eventual federal takeover via a "bailout" like they did with the banks? (nationalization).

  115. I went to the www.GovTrack.us website and found an interesting bill submitted to the House of Representatives:

=== H.Res. 626: Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that Members of Congress who participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) should be automatically enrolled in the public plan. ====

SO, you say, what is the big deal? A Republican Congressman has introduced a bill to say that the Members of Congress who are presently enrolled in FEDBP should be enrolled in the "public plan" that would be created under Obama's so-called "Health Care Reform" in an attempt to make creation of a public plan unpalatable to the members of Congress.....

Why, you ask, do you find this so interesting?

Well, just so you know, what I find SO very interesting is that the bill is sponsored by .... a..... DEMOCRAT!

The text of the bill has not been posted yet, since the bill was just recently submitted, on Friday, July 10. It has only gone as far as being referred to the House Administration and House Ways and Means Committees.

The bill's sponsor is Artur Davis, a Democrat from Alabama. Mr. Davis has already announced that he will be running for Governor next year and has a very good chance of winning, so he isn't worried about blowback from "the party" for doing this.

Of course, once the full text is posted, I might be sorely disappointed. But I will be watching to see what it says.

  116. Here are a few that sound suspicious:

    === H.R. 3171, sponsored by Rep Joe Baca, D-CA:
To help stabilize and restore the economy by providing for greater access to credit for the underbanked, the unbanked, and consumers with low credit scores through the establishment of bridging bank depository institutions, and for other purposes. ===

Who are these "underbanked" and "unbanked"? And we all know about "consumers with low credit scores"! And what exactly are "bridging bank depository institutions"?

H.R. 3142: To establish a program to assist homeowners experiencing unavoidable, temporary difficulty making payments on home mortgages.
    Rep. Chaka Fattah [D-PA2

And these sound like potentially good bills:

H.R. 3174: To provide that only certain forms of identification of individuals may be accepted by the Federal Government and by financial institutions. Rep. Marsha Blackburn [R-TN]

    S. 1443: A bill to amend the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act to modify State responsibilities under such Act.
    Sen. James Inhofe [R-OK]

H.R. 3140: To rescind unobligated appropriations and repeal certain provisions in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and for other purposes. Rep. Tom Price [R-GA]

I give up. There are just TOO MANY. And most that sound good will probably never make it out of committee!

  122. As you all know by now, Obama is going to have yet ANOTHER "townhall meeting" (tomorrow night - July 14), this time in Detroit, Michigan.

=== President Barack Obama will hold a town-hall meeting at Macomb Community College in Warren on Tuesday, but only MCC students and faculty will be chosen from a lottery.

A White House official told The Detroit News the meeting will not be open to the public. Obama will only spend a few hours in Michigan before heading off to St. Louis for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. ===

Another "townhall meeting" with an adoring group of college students and their professors. More brainwashing of our young people.

    Of course, as usual:
    - Questioners will be selected in advance;
    - Questions will be pre-screened(arranged);
    - The "spontaneous" (PREPARED) answers will be scrolled for BHO on TOTUS.
    - And the reporters from the msm will report how it was a real love-fest.

Business as usual. (Unless TOTUS gets brave and inserts a few honest answers in place of the usual b.s. (that stands for "barack sh*t", in case you didn't know.)

And then he will jet off on the taxpayer dime to St. Louis to attend a baseball game, where I'm sure he will toss out the first pitch.

I'm sure that he throws LIKE A GIRL.

MelenaX was correct: most Americans, especially soldiers and CIA or FBI agents, WOULD INDEED fight against a "president" who begins behaving like a dictator.

    Try to follow:
MelenaX isn't advocating "overthrowing a president" (as YOU wrote), UNLESS that person is behaving CONTRARY to our Constitution, as a dictator, and not as a president.

BO hasn't yet crossed that line, but he is just now touching the line in several places, which is why his staff keeps emphasizing or even creating distractions (flying over the Statue of Liberty, etc.).

  147. Just in case there is anyone on this blog who doesn't quite understand the background for stating that the military could remove a president, it is quite clearly stated in the oath that is taken when you join the armed forces. The Uniform Code of Military Justice allows the removal of anyone giving unlawful orders. As a point of reference, watch the movie Crimson Tide. The COB (Chief of Boat) is an enlisted officer who relieves the captain of his duties, because he was doing something unlawful. Therefore, a military tribunal could relieve the president of his duties, if the president was shown to be giving unlawful orders contrary to The Constitution, and the other branches of government were not acting as they should in removing such a president. Such a process as never been done, because the three branches of government usually act to prevent such abuse of power before it comes to that.

    The oath is as follows:

    *****
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
    *****

We are truly blessed in this country, by having The Constitution, and by having an elected government, and by having a strong military. Perhaps I should also add, we are also blessed by the diversity of opinions, all of which add to our understanding. God bless our men and women in the military, as they truly stand between us and tyranny.

    ReplyDelete
  148. "the three branches of government usually act to prevent such abuse of power before it comes to that."

That check and balance process of our government is presently broken, at least between the Exec and Legislative branches. Obama is working on the Judicial Branch now. Sotomayor's confirmation hearings are going on as we speak.

His arguments are usually just that wrong.

  152. cranis is probably just one of the millions of Obama volunteers who would do anything for their master.

Have you ever watched the documentary on History channgel about the Jim Jones massacre? It is SO sad. Some people took the poison voluntarily, others refused and were shot. They poisoned the little babies and small children.

Those poor misguided people followed that crazy m-f because they wanted so badly to believe HIS message of hope .... and he murdered them.

    ReplyDelete
  153. @ Jamie...Don't all the now-oppressive-and-murderous dictators do that? :-S

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yes, they do Shaun, but Jim Jones was a "spiritual" leader, the scariest kind of oppressive and murderous creep. He didn't even have to run for office or lead a coup to take over a country, or anything. He just preached hope and joy and pitiful people wanted to follow him.

It frightens me how people will follow someone like Jim Jones, Osama bin Laden, Hitler....

All it takes is charisma and smooth talk.

    ReplyDelete
  155. You are so right, Jamie. The modus operandi of Wolves in Sheep's Clothing is "charisma and smooth talk."

And how do the majority of churches in the U.S. choose their pastors? Largely on the basis of how well they:

    1) talk in front of a group
    2) charm the members of the hiring committee
    3) act as a master of ceremonies

Too many church hiring committees are much too eager to believe.

People forget -- a wolf in sheep's clothing looks like a SHEEP. They think there will be a little bit of wolf showing through the disguise. Only the highly discerning will see it. No one will see it right off the bat. And then, it's too late. By the time the WISC bares its teeth enough to be identified, the WISC has gained a cult-like following within the church. Then, the only solution is to split up. Leave behind the cult of the WISC and start anew with eyes (and Bibles) wide open and hearts unclouded by "charisma and smooth talk."
